"I know I was dancing just fine, nobody said I wasn't," Rath replied quickly, giving the blonde girl a firm little scowl, that fell just short of threatening. It was hard for him to truly look mad at Leigh, since it scarcely ever actually happened. "And yeah, I asked her. I can be a man sometimes, you know, even if you guys treat me like one of the girls," he added. At the mention of Random Comment, he glanced toward the still empty make-shift stage. "Shouldn't they be on soon anyway? It's been ages."
Seraphim squeezed Leigh's hand when she received it, glancing toward the other girl, and then back to her brother. She chose to keep her mouth shut on the subject of the kiss, if she could help it; they were both adults, even if it was weird, and thus it was none of her business. As long as Rath didn't start copping feels in front of her, which would only make it weirder.
"I think Tatum and Ophelia were.. well, you know, that costume. Pretty sure they were having a moment there, so they're missing a guitarist. And I think Jude is busy with Adrian, and Samson. And Sarah isn't even here, which I blame Hunter for," the brunette murmured, lifting her wine and taking another drink. "I say we might be musicless for a while, unless we just go and turn on the stereo. I figured someone would have by now. Didn't they bring CDs down?"
Looking toward the door, she noticed that Lucy and Brody had just arrived. "Or we could ask her."

"Rath is a pretty okay dancer." Meghan replied, nodding a little. "He hasn't stepped on my feet yet and he knows to keep his hands to himself. So I'd say he's doing pretty well." She laughed a little and smiled as she glanced up at Rath before looking back at Leigh. "Oh, well... you can have your dance partner back if you'd like. Sorry for stealing him."

"Looking good in reverse," Lucy said, heaving another sigh. She usually wasn't one to give a rat's ass about how she looked, but... well, as awful as it sounded, she hadn't hooked up with anyone in some time, and it was going to be another long while before it happened as long as she looked like this. "You, however, look extremely Brody. I love it," she said, looking her friend up and down. "Hal looks great, too," she said, smiling.

"Well, I won't be setting him on fire, or smashing him anytime soon, even despite my costume.. but I think we both look pretty snazzy, yeah," Brody replied casually, smiling at her friend. "Glad you like it. And for the record, I like your costume just fine, you look like a sexy bitch, I'm super serial, I wouldn't lie to you," she added, giving the girl a quick up and down as well. "You know I'm a straight up bitch, I'd tell you if you looked ugly, and you don't. Maybe you'll run into your star-crossed Peters while you're here."

"Never said you weren't a man, dear," Leigh replied to Rath, and stuck out her tongue. "Just saying you're not outgoing. And if outgoingness was the measure of a man, I'd be manlier than you in any case. My skirt and I object to that. Sera would probably also object to that.
"And I don't want him back," she noted to Meghan with a wink. "He abuses me. Maybe he'd be nicer to a new partner. But if he starts being mean to you, I recommend kicking him in the shins. Or calling back up. Sera and I will help out."

Sera raised her glass slightly, before taking another drink. "And object to it, I will. Although I'm pretty sure she could take you in a fight, girl or not. And wearing that skirt or not. Don't goddesses have like, super strength? Or was that just one? I'm forgetting my lessons now that you've let me have a drink," the brunette muttered, sighing some.
At the mention of beating up Rath, she beamed slightly, leaning against her girlfriend. "She's right, a kick in the shins does a world of good. And kneeing him in the thigh works well, too. But from the look of things, he's on his best behavior, he must really like you."
With the look Sera gave him as she said that, Rath knew immediately what she understood, and he gave her a scowl that was much firmer than the one Leigh had received. "You know, you're going to make her think you two are a couple of evil-- oh wait, my mistake. I guess you are, aren't you?" Rath began, before smirking at them, and turning back to Meghan, rolling his eyes. "Sisters, honestly."

"If you don't want him back, I'll keep him then. He's been a right gentleman all night." Meghan responded, giggling a little. She then glanced from Leigh to Seraphim and shrugged, "He did just kiss me, but that really doesn't mean anything about whether he likes me or not."
Meghan giggled again when Rath looked at her and rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't know anything about sisters, silly. I only have brothers, remember?"

"I'm no sister of yours, sir," Leigh said pointedly, ignoring the fact that she'd always claimed the opposite. "And to top that, I'm not evil, either. I'm a henchwoman. There's a difference.
"Plus, I bet I could take you. Even in this atrociously short skirt. And these insane heels."

"Henchwomen are just evil bitches who aren't smart enough to make up the plans on their own," Rath replied, matter-of-factly. "Like Shego, from Kim Possible. Or that chick from Heroes, the one that Kristen Bell plays. Well, before she got written out, or they killed her dad, or what--" he was in the middle of explaining, but he shut his mouth quickly when he realized what Meghan had said, feeling his cheeks blushing intently. "I-It was only one kiss, c'mon."
"That, by the by, is what you missed earlier," Seraphim pitched in, downing the last drink of her glass of wine, leaning her head lazily onto Leigh's shoulder. "I wish they'd play music soon, you know, I almost feel like dancing. Almost, almost."

"I'm only teasing you, Rath." Meghan said before putting on a mock pout. "Poor little nerd boy can't take the teasing?" She nudged him with her elbow and let out a few giggles, soon after leaning against his side, a wide smile on her face.

"I hate to break it to you, Rath," Leigh said in a rather cold tone, a little stung. He usually kept the cursing more towards Sera than to her, since she generally played nice back, where Sera was much more no-holds-barred. "One, I might be a bitch, and I might not be as smart as you and Sera, but I'm not stupid. Two, You're going to pay in that remark in the video games you are so not getting for Christmas anymore. I'll give them to Meghan, on the compromise that you aren't allowed to play them. And I know for a fact that they're some damn nice titles, too. Three, Shego follows Drakken for the same reason I follow Sera around, she's in love with him. Only Sera's not a him. And frankly, we've already seen the movies wherein Shego took control. We know she's not stupid. And four, Elle was a spineless wench with major Daddy-issues, which I am firmly lacking.
"And if just kissing a girl gets your damn panties in a bunch, sir, I pray you never get laid. No offense to you," Leigh said sympathetically towards Meghan. "Apparently, it's time for my annual fight with Rath and his unfortunate being-a-boy that makes him say stupid things when he should keep his mouth shut. Guess he just picked up Michael's turn since he's at school.
"Let's go find s'more wine," Leigh said to Sera. "My good mood is officially sad, and I need dancing, and liquor-fueled groping, or something."

In short, Rath looked completely at a loss for words. His expression was blank, and he was pretty sure that his mouth was hanging open [even just a little], as he stared at the blonde. That certainly hadn't been what he had been expecting, and he didn't know what to say. Hell, what could he say? Leigh had more or less put him in his place, one hundred percent.
Feeling Meghan leaning aside his side, he glanced over at her, before looking back at Leigh and Sera. "... I think I just got completely owned by a chick."
Seraphim had been barely holding in her laughter, but Rath's realization made her crack, letting out a loud bark of laughter, and quickly lifting up her hand to cover her mouth. Although the giggling didn't stop. "Holy fucking checkmate," she managed, between the laughing, whic was hastily bringing tears to her eyes. "You just got served, wow."
Maybe this party wouldn't be so bad after all.
Between the still steady snickering, the brunette offered her arm out to Leigh, and grinned widely at the other girl. "To the wine, m'lady! You deserve a goddamn pint for that!"

"Yes, it does appear that you just got owned by Leigh." Meghan couldn't hold back her own laughter, letting out a few giggles as she watched Seraphim and Leigh walk off towards the refreshment table. "Is it the first time you've been owned by a woman?"

Leigh couldn't help but crack a smile at Sera's smothered laughter, and had to bite the inside of her cheek to stop herself from breaking and laughing herself stupid at Rath's comment and even more so as Sera cracked up. "Yes, please," she answered with her nose in the air, hooking her arm in Sera's. As soon as she felt safe enough to do so as they walked away, she leaned towards Sera's ear and grinned, bouncing on her toes a little, "holy Aphrodite, that won so hard."

"If this was prison, I'm pretty sure my brother just became your all time bitch," Seraphim replied firmly, with a little nod of her head. She gave the other girl's arm a little firmer tug, as they stepped up to the refreshment table, and she reached for the bottle of wine she had opened earlier. Grabbing two new plastic cups, she poured them both full, and then slid one over to Leigh, before taking up her own, and offering a mock toast.
"To the complete and total can of verbal whoop ass that you just opened up all over my brother's face. I'm proud to call you my protege, darling."
Rath watched them walking off, and fought down the urge to apologize. Even if at the end everyone had laughed a little, he had a feeling that he really had struck a nerve, and would probably be getting the cold shoulder for a while over it. Turning back toward Meghan, he gave her a sheepish smile, as he rubbed the back of his neck again.
"Actually, no. My sisters do it to me all the time. Leigh, not so often, but it happens. As you've plainly just seen. Uhm, sorry about that, by the way. I didn't mean to make a scene."
