"Cheers to my owning your brother, which is totally sweet," the blonde said, and tapped her plastic cup against Sera's. Leigh took a long sip of the drink and made a face at Sera when she'd finished. "Jeez!" she remarked, and giggled. "I don't mind the bitchy comment, really," she noted absently, "but I hate when people smarter than me call me stupid. Damnit, I know already," she added, and drank again, and gifted Sera with another face. "I know by the next cup it'll be delicious, but it's the getting through the first cup that makes me twitchy."

"It's fine, really. I don't mind. It was nice to see you interact with one of your sisters. ...Even if her girlfriend did just totally own you." Meghan laughed a little and then linked her arm with Rath's. "What do you say we go sit down until the band gets here and we have real music? My feet are starting to hurt."

Seraphim watched Leigh downing the first glass of wine, and she sipped idly at her own, listening to what the blonde said. The comments about the wine were amusing enough, but it was the other part that the brunette seemed focused on. It made Sera frown a bit, as she turned around a bit to face the other girl, and placed her cup down onto the table.
"Hey," she began simply, taking the nearly empty up from Leigh, and placing it next to her own, before lifting her hands and placing one on either side of the blonde's face, leaning in to seize her in a firm kiss. She held it for a few moments, before pulling back just scarcely, keeping their lips close together. "You're not stupid. You're beautiful, and you're brilliant."
She was a little drunk, and it wasn't as eloquent or flourish as her usual compliments, but it had the same sincerity behind it, and the same genuinely Sera tone.
"I'd say that sounds like a really good idea, because my feet are getting pretty sore, too. These boots are hell on earth, I swear," he admitted, with a little smile. With his arm linked into Meghan's, he led her back over to where they had been sitting before they started dancing, offering the seat to her, before sitting down onto the armrest again.

"You can have the chair if you want," Meghan offered, grinning from ear to ear. "I think I'd rather sit on your lap." She let out a few giggles, covering her mouth to muffle the laughter just slightly. Maybe she was being too forward with asking to sit on Rath's lap, but he was the one who had kissed her earlier so she figured it would be fair for him to let her use his lap as a chair.

Rath had to laugh a little as well, though he quickly stood from the armrest, and slid into the actual seat instead, offering up his lap. "You have no idea how long I've dreamed of having Judy Nails sitting in my lap," he replied, still laughing a bit. "And I warn you, my sister's head might explode if she notices. The other one, I mean, not the bitch. Well, I shouldn't call her that, I suppose. She's your friend."

Meghan giggled as she sat down on Rath's lap, turning to face him with a large grin on her face. "It looks like that dream just came true, huh?" She laughed a little more and made herself comfortable before turning her gaze to where Tatum was standing with Ophelia. "She doesn't seem to be watching us though. Looks like she's a little too wrapped up in whatever her girlfriend is saying. And it's okay that you called Seraphim a bitch. It's not like she doesn't already know, yeah?

"She does that, like I said. Once Ophi gets her attention, I'm not half as interesting anymore," Rath replied, giving his head a shake. "And Sera might know, but me saying it will still be our little secret. I kind of like my manly-bits still attached to me, seriously," he added, as he glanced over to where Sera and Leigh were near the refreshment table. Looking surprisingly serious. Once again, he fought down the urge to go and apologize.

Leigh returned the kiss easily, smiling at the compliment. She comfortably draped her empty hand over Sera's waist. "I don't think I'm dumb Sera, honestly, I don't. But I don't follow you 'cos I'm stupid," she added firmly. "I follow you because I'm secretly a genius, and I know that if I'm nice enough, you'll give me Ireland when you take over the world. And Rath's usually nicer to me, 'cos I buy him video games and play nice. Oh well, forget him. We need to go poke people into playing music so you can dance with me!" She took a sip of wine, and pulled another face. "Why can't it taste good, Sera?"

Jackson really hadn't wanted Marianne coming to this party. Fifteen was a little too young to be at a gathering with people in their twenties as well as high schoolers. Still, she'd insisted on coming, citing how she knew almost everyone from the drama club, or from shows. Sighing, he begrudgingly agreed to take her along. He hadn't put much effort into his costume, deciding on being a hobo. He hadn't had time, between school, soccer, and now work at the Cafe.
Marianne Peters had never been to a "real" party, and was more than a little excited when she heard about the Wainwright's. When she'd heard anyone was invited, well, she figured she was anyone, and it was time to go. She'd hand-made her own costume; a really accurate replica of Arwen's main dress from Lord of the Rings. She straightened her hair (for the first time in ages), and even sprayed black hair colour into it. She hated how sticky it made her normally soft hair feel, but sucked it up, since it added to the authenticity of her costume. She stood in front of her bathroom mirror, smiling at how well it had turned out. She caught Jackson's reflection standing behind her.
"Lazy, much?" she asked, smiling as she eyed his 'costume'.
"More like, 'busy'," he replied, sighing. "Are you ready? Let's roll," he said. The two were getting a cab, because Jackson was fairly certain he was going to be drinking. Marianne had been allowed to tag along under the condition she said nothing to their parents.
"Yes!" the little redhead said excitedly. "Let's go!" She grabbed her purse and raced to the door, where the cab was waiting. Soon, the two found themselves on the Wainwright's crowded street, then standing in their main hallway.

"You might have to fight Tatum for Ireland. As long as I have France, I'm really open to whatever. How do you feel about that? We could rule France together? And we wouldn't make the same mistakes as Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. None of this rebelling peasants business, we'll make sure that they do whatever we say, even if you might become legendary for your over-spending and classy taste. And we'll let them have cake, and eat it, too," Sera explained, definitely getting halfway to drunk by the moment. Although her rants remained as intelligent as ever. Lifting her wine glass up again, she took a long drink. "It does taste good, by the way. If you're going to be French with me, you have to drink wine, or I'll just have to find another queen. Just be glad that it isn't boxed wine. That stuff is rancid."
She glanced over to her brother when he was mentioned, sending a scowl at him, before noticing that Marianne and Jackson had arrived. "Oh, we should say hello. Your coffee boy and his sister just got here. And I actually really like Marianne, she's quite nice. Maybe she'll drink wine with me, d'you think?"

"Well, maybe France wouldn't be so bad," Leigh said with a grudging tone, but she was smiling. "I could suffer through that, and hey look, I am drinking aren't I?" She tipped her glass -- almost empty now, so Sera could see. "And it's starting to taste kinda good now. Which means I need another cup! And then dancing." The blonde reached for the bottle and poured herself a half glass, and had only placed it down again when Sera noted the arrival of Marianne and Jackson. "Ooh, let's go say hi." She paused, "Don't make me get all jealous, sir, I'll totally do it. And we still need to dance."
She kissed Sera briefly on the forehead, grabbed her hand, and both headed over towards the pair, hugging Marianne and then Jackson. "Hee, how are you guys doing? You look great! Your dress is gorgeous!" She surveyed Jackson's outfit for a brief moment before bursting into giggles. "That is quite possibly the best idea ever."

Sera had managed to pour a little more into her cup, before Leigh had pulled her off to greet the Peters. She took a long sip out of her wine, as Leigh doled out the greetings, and held tightly onto her arm. It took her a moment to realize who Marianne had dressed as, and when she did, she almost choked on her drink.
"Arwen!" She chimed quickly, almost slopping her drink over herself. "Oh, wow, your costume looks so awesome! Although hobo brother, also equally awesome."

"If it means anything, I think you're pretty interesting." Meghan stated, smiling wide as she shifted a little on Rath's lap so that she was fully comfortable. "My lips are sealed, alright? I won't let her know you said anything."

"Excellent," Rath replied with a smile. "Now, is it just me, or is this party a bit boring now that we've drank, danced, and fought with my sister? I think we could use some video games. I wonder if we could hook up Guitar Hero out here, that would be great. Or I should have just brought my DS, and then we could have played On Tour."

"It's definitely not just you. This party has gotten rather boring." Meghan replied before making a slightly annoyed face, her lips pursed together. "We could always ditch the party if you wanted. It's not like we really need to be here, is it?"
