Jude smiled. "I might be able to talk Samson into trying out. He's actually a really good actor, and he's a pretty good singer..."
Johnny nodded, making some notes in his notebook. "So we'll set up an audition for..say next Wednesday?"

Harley Michaels was not a girl given to shyness, and she walked eagerly into the room where the Drama club was meeting. "Sorry I'm late," she announced, willingly drawing all attention to herself. "This place is a maze compared to my old school. Drama, right?" She asked, but didn't pause for answer. "I can sing, dance, play instruments, and act, though to be honest only the singing and acting with any real talent, though passably enough with everything else. I've also been Stage Manager for a series of plays and musicals, and I've worked scene in every play I've ever gone near. I'm a hard worker, and if you're open to new people, I'd love to try y'all out."

Brody shuddered visibly at the thought of having to work with both Samson Brighton and[i/] Jude, but she had been ready to just smile and agree with Johnny's suggestion just the same. For Lucy, she could suck it up. Seeing how excited her friend was over the prospect was a nice change from their cynical attitudes. "Yeah, we can book Wednesday off, and I guess the four of us can be the judges of it all, even if we only have a handful of characters left to--"
When Harley entered the room, Brody's mouth shut, as she looked over at the other girl. Who launched into her spiel almost immediately. She'd never actually seen her around school before, but she was pretty, and apparently confident. Brody could live with a combination like that, as long as it didn't usurp her from the pretty-and-confident throne that she usually sat on. "Well, uh, we were just discussing RENT. Though we only have a couple of roles left now. You interested in Angel? Or perhaps Benny?"

Harley beamed, "Ooh, could I be Angel? Please? I know all of it by heart -- I adore Jonathon Larson. Don't you think Tick Tick...Boom is totally underrated?" she grinned a little at her rambling. "Yes! I'd love to take part, anyway. Um, for those of you who don't know me, which I think is most of you, uh, except you. Hey Johnny!" She had a class with him and had tried to strike up conversation -- it had been moderately successful when she finally brought out the topic of acting. She seemed surprised that there were two of him (and would have, in fact, been unable to tell them apart except for their clothing), but didn't comment. "I'm Harleen Michaels, but I go strictly by 'Harley'. And yes, I am named after the Joker's sidekick Harley Quinn. May I ask for introductions? I'll ask again, trust me, I'm terrible with names, but if we're all gonna work together, it'd be nice."

"Enthusiasm much?" Brody murmured quietly, close against Lucy's shoulder, before she straightened up a little and lifted a hand, indicating herself. "Brody Rogers, the one and the only. If you haven't already heard my amazing music, I'm sure you'll be honored in the near future. In fact, I think I have one of my mix CDs in my bag.. but anyway, I have to say, being named after a Batman character is pretty fantastic. You fancy comic books, then, or just your folks do?"

"Folk, actually. Singular," Harley returned. "My dad actually draws for the comic, and I'm a regular fan, yes. Batman, mostly, but I also like a bit of the Marvel stuff. Not that I'm allowed to say that in public. And I've heard you play, not that I'd turn down a CD. You're really good, which you obviously know, so that's as much flattery as you get from me."

Johny smiled at Harley; he'd had a class or two with her, yeah, and the subject of drama had come up. "Well you know me, and this is my brother, Jude."
Jude waved slightly. "I'm not an actor, I'm just here for the singing."

"You any good?" She asked idly, an eyebrow raised.

It took a lot for Brody to bite her lip at that question, keeping down criticism, and reaching over to grasp Lucy's arm tightly instead.

Jude shrugged. "I'm okay, I guess." he stated, never one to toot his own horn.
Johnny frowned, nudging Jude. "He's fantastic. He's the lead singer in Random Comment, they've got a cd coming out soon."
Jude scowled, giving Johnny a shove. "From a local label, and it's only like, ten songs. It's stupid, no one's going to buy the cd's anyways."

"You have to be Roger," Harley noted to him amused, unwilling to step into the drama. She certainly couldn't claim that she'd buy the CD, and she didn't like lying in general. "Which means you sing better than you're admitting, and you're acting just emo enough for the role. Anyway, who's Collins? And who're the rest of you?"

"He is Roger," Brody sighed, before lifting a hand to point at Johnny. "That's your Collins, I'm Mimi, Lucy goosey here is going to be Mark. We're trying to rope in their sister, and some guy's sister, to play Joanne and Maureen. We're thinking it'll all come together, it usually does," she explained matter-of-factly, with a curt nod. "Sound cool to you?"

"Works for me," Harley answered with a comfortable shrug, glad to know the closet person she had to be with on-stage was the one she knew best off-stage, seeing that just about everyone else was a virtual stranger. "Where do you guys perform? Do you have a faculty member for stage-management and director? That's how my last school did it, anyway."

Johnny chuckled. "You're looking at the cast and crew. We usually con some of the techies into helping with all the tech stuff, and Ophi, our sister, she's the leader of the shop kids, so they make all our props and sets."

"This school is crazy," Harley noted, "but that is severely cool. Is the shop girl the one you're trying to bring in for Joanne or Maureen?"
