With both of their parents working until well after eight o'clock, somehow Thanksgiving had fallen into their laps. Well, more so, into Seraphim's lap; between the three of them, she stood the best chance of failing to burn down the house. And they really didn't think their parents would be keen on any house burning, even in the name of turkey and all things delicious. Rath was insistent that he could only cook something if it was a cooking simulator, which he soon wandered off to play after said statement. Tatum could bake, at least, and agreed that she'd look after making pies of some sort, and possibly some homemade stuffing, as long as Seraphim did all of the actual vegetables and not to mention the turkey itself.
It wasn't until noon that they had actually begun, roles set into place. Sera worked on the main meal, Tatum worked on dessert, and Rath played with the Wii. Between taking the car to the store to pick up things that they had forgotten at the last minute, namely a package of potatoes and some milk. By the time at six o'clock rolled around, things were looking pretty well put together, as Tatum moved about to set the table, while Rath had returned to his video game and Seraphim was placing just the last couple of finishing touches on their meal.
It had been a long time since they had enjoyed a meal as a family, probably not since last Thanksgiving, or possibly Easter, and although she wasn't feeling all of that hungry, Tatum found herself rather excited for it. Perhaps it would be just the three of them, but then again, it usually was, wasn't it? Three portions of a whole entity, supporting each other. Even in something as mundane as cooking a large dinner.
Sighing some as she placed down the last fork on the table, the red head sunk into her chair, before withdrawing her cellphone from the pocket of her jeans, quickly jotting out a text message to Ophelia, before sinking back further into her seat to wait for a reply.

Ophelia's phone beeped, and she put down the guitar in her hand to look at the message. She smiled, texting the other girl back and looking around. Their house was radically empty; Johnny at a rehearsal and their father was away at an art conference. There was a crash from down the hall. "Jude? You still alive in there?" she called, remembering that her brother had disappeared into the kitchen hours ago. "Jude? Did you get eaten by the oven? Man, Tatum just texted me, going on about turkey. Did you want to go crash their supper?" Jude poked his head out, nose wrinkling and a cut on his cheek. "I can dig that. Uh. I think the microwave stand is broken." Ophelia rolled her eyes, texting Tatum again and asking if it were okay for them to stop in, then went to fix up her brothers cheek. "You are so hopeless." Jude smiled cheekily, and she shook her head as she put a bandaid on his cheek.

Rath had been coming into the kitchen, just as Tatum's phone was vibrating, and she picked it up from the table, reading what Ophelia had replied with, before glancing up at her brother. "You don't care if Ophi and Jude come over, right?" she asked, though it was more of a rhetorical question. Rath gave a light shrug of his shoulders, as he took a seat beside his twin, and picked up his fork and knife. "As long as I get turkey, man, I don't care who you invite. Just make sure they hurry up, dunno if my stomach can hold out for much longer," he said simply, and Tatum smiled fondly, quickly ducking her head and returning her attention to her phone, texting the answer back to Ophi, before sliding the phone closed and placing it back down onto the table.

Ophelia grinned as she read the replying text, then pulled Jude down the hall and out the door. It took three minutes to cross the small wooded area between the two houses, and she was knocking on the door in seconds. She glanced at Jude, realizing that her baby brother looked very much like an adorable five year old who'd been dragged off at random. She grinned, reaching to pinch his cheek. "You're so adorable, Jude-bear." she stated, pressing a messy, childish kiss to his lips with a loud smack.

Rath had been complaining about his hunger pains by the time that the Wainwrights arrived, and Tatum was more than content to jump out of her chair, grabbing up her phone and tucking it into the back pocket of her jeans, as she moved down the hallway toward the front door. She pushed some of the messy pile of sneakers away, enough so that she could open the door at least, smiling at Ophelia and Jude standing on the other side, opening it just in time to catch the end of their kiss. Something that she was, admittedly, quite used to. It might have put off some people, but Ophi had been doing it for years, and it seemed like second nature to Tatum by now, who had known them for ages.
"Oh, well. I see how it is, then," she replied coyly, managing a bit of a mock pout, before moving away a bit from the opened door, so that they could come inside. "You just want to kiss your brother all of the time, you only come over here for my food.."

Ophelia grinned, leaning forward to place a kiss on Tatum's lips before sliding past her inside. "Aw baby, you know how I roll. Now, whats this about turkey?" Jude followed, waiting for Tatum to go inside before closing the door behind them, rubbing his cheek as they walked down the hall.

"Turkey, you know? As in Thanksgiving dinner? Our parents aren't home, surprise surprise, so we decided to make it on our own. Well, Sera made most of it, but I've baked pies!" Tatum explained, as she led the three of them back into the kitchen, where Seraphim was finally putting the food on the table. She had apparently nagged Rath into helping, though he looked much more interested in eating than setting everything to look presentable on the table. Settling one of Tatum's said pies onto the table, between the potatoes and the sweet potatoes, he flopped back into his chair, and picked up his knife and fork again. "Ready when you are!" he said, and Seraphim let out an exasperated sigh, as she settled into her own chair; placing a napkin into her lap, before gingerly picking up her own utensils, holding them in a much less barbaric manner.
"It's too much for three, so I suppose it's good you guys came," she said, glancing over at Jude and Ophi.

Ophelia grinned, flopping down in one of the empty chairs, and Jude followed more gracefully, a little afraid of Seraphim. He smiled some at Rath, and sat silently, waiting for everyone to start.
"Yeah well, you know. Someone has to feed us." Ophelia smirked as she spoke; egging Seraphim on was a hobby of hers.

"Don't push your luck," Seraphim replied casually, without missing a beat, as she shot Ophelia a glare, before she reached across the table and began to scoop up some carrots for herself. Taking this as his sign, Rath grinned over at Jude, before he moved in on the turkey, helping himself to four large pieces of white meat, and three heaping scoops of potaotes, before grabbing the gravy and pouring that all over. "Come on man, eat," he said to the other boy. By the time he was moving onto the peas, Tatum was settling into the empty chair she had been in earlier, close to Ophelia. She didn't show as much enthusiasm as her brother, though she seemed at least to be in good spirits today, as she reached over and grabbed the milk instead, pouring herself a glass.

Ophelia filled her own plate before filling up Jude's, pushing the plate towards her brother before turning back to her girlfriend and her girlfriends sister. "Well THANK YOU for inviting us. We're ever so greatful. Jude, stop picking at your food and fucking eat." She didn't look over at her brother, but kept her eyes on Tatum.
Jude bit his lip, but put a fork full of turkey into his mouth, chewing slowly. He hated when Ophelia embarrassed him like that, especially in front of Rath, who he'd had a crush on for ages.

"I didn't invite you," Seraphim replied idly, as she began to eat, making sure to finish chewing and swallowing before she spoke again. "I figure you would have shown up anyway, even if we hadn't. You've been doing it for years," she added, as she reached over to take the milk from Tatum, who was just finishing up with it. "You're welcome, just the same. The fact that you're thanking me, despite how sarcastic, is a pleasant surprise."
Never the fan of tension, Tatum shot Seraphim a look, begging her not to start, though she knew her worry would be wasted. As much as they might have liked each other, somewhere inside, Sera and Ophi were always going on about something. Ophelia knew just how to get under the younger girl's skin, and it was a bit of a time honored tradition. When Ophi commanded Jude to eat, Tatum glanced at him for just a moment, before looking down at her own empty plate. A little sheepishly, she reached for the stuffing, putting just a little onto her plate, followed by a bit of turkey. Which she proceeded to pick at after just a few bites, in a manner very similar to Jude's.
Far too concerned about his meal, Rath didn't even seem to acknowledge the slight bickering, or anything else for that matter. He was already helping himself to more turkey.

Ophelia frowned, reaching to scoop a little bit more food onto Tatum's plate. She knew that both her girlfriend and her brother had problems eating, and she made it her duty in life to get them to eat.
Jude paled, shifting the food around his plate and taking an occasional bite. "I'm sorry. I'm not all that hungry, but it tastes delicious, Seraphim." he stated, softly.

Glancing up from the plate, which she had been staring rather intently onto, Tatum gave Ophelia a little bit of a sour look as more food was placed in front of her. She supremely wasn't feeling up to eating it, even if it was as good as Jude had said it was. It had taken all day to make, and as long as it all got eaten, and didn't go to waste, she would be content. And between Rath and Ophi, that wouldn't be a problem. So why did she has to eat it all? Her few bites of turkey and stuffing had been more than enough for her. Though she realized it was a bit redundant to argue the point with her girlfriend, who had been making it her personal duty to make her eat for quite some time. "I'm not all that hungry either," she finally said, trailing off a bit, as she placed her fork down onto the plate.
This seemed to snap Rath out of his own little world somewhat, as he glanced up from his own meal to take a long look at his twin. He knew, just as well as Ophelia, what Tatum was like. And why she wasn't eating anything. It made him frown slightly, though he wasn't feeling up to pushing the point right then, and potentially destroying the peaceful atmosphere of the meal. If nothing else, he'd ask her about it later, when things had gotten calmer, when it was just the two of them.
"It does, doesn't it?" Seraphim agreed, glancing across the table at Jude and his plate. She'd spent enough time around the Wainwrights to know their habits, and was as aware as anyone else that Jude wasn't a big eater. For once, she took not offense, and saw no reason to make a scene. Just this once, maybe. "I would have invited you, regardless, of course. And Johnny. Just not your sister."

Ophelia knew that Tatum would say something to her later, but she didn't care. She thought it was ridiculous that the other girl felt she had to starve herself; she was beautiful the way she was. She ignored Seraphim's words, knowing that even though the younger girl said things like that, she would have invited her regardless. She cast another look at Jude, who was beginning to look ill, and frowned, reaching to touch her brothers arm lightly before turning her attention to Tatum. "So what are you lot up to for the rest of the week?"
Jude smiled a small smile at Seraphim; while she didn't get along so well with Ophelia, she'd always seemed to get along with the twins. "Johnny's at rehearsal, but I'm sure he'd have loved to come over." he moved, resting his elbows on the table and clasping his hands together, resting his cheek on them. "I'm sorry, I don't really feel that good today." Beside him, Ophelia frowned.

Quite pleased with the change of topic, and chance to focus on something other than eating, Tatum perked up a little bit when Ophelia addressed the table with her question. "Same old, I guess. Unless you were planning something exciting for me to do that I didn't know about?" she admitted, giving her girlfriend a little smile, trying to keep some of the tension out of the air, between the bickering and she and Jude's lack of enthusiasm for food. "Oh, and you guys are playing Seneca tomorrow, right? It's a Tuesday, I almost forgot.. I guess that'll be the highlight of my week."
Beside her, Rath swallowed his mouthful of food before chiming in. "I'm getting paid on Wednesday, and I know for a fact that Silent Hill Homecoming just came out, so the plan is to buy that, get the PS3 settled up, lock the door, and refuse to come out of my room until I've finished it," he explained, before motioning to his twin with his fork. "I was thinking I'd drag her with me, but I guess if you're going to steal her away, you can have her. You've got breasts and all, and I do not, and so I will always be at a loss."
Seraphim seemed to ignore the question all together, more focused on Jude, rather than the banter between Ophelia and the twins. He genuinely didn't look good, and she found herself frowning almost immediately after Ophelia had. "You don't look the best, no," she began slowly, absently wishing that Johnny hadn't been at a rehearsal. When it came to situations like this, and any situation involving Jude, then Johnny always knew what to do. "Don't worry about the food, really."
