A fellow Sonic Youth fan? She was, officially and fully, smitten. Grinning widely, Natasha nodded and quickly edited his contact section, changing his ring tone over to 'Superstar'. She couldn't stop smiling, even though she tried. "There, all changed up, we're good to go," she said happily, shoving her phone back into her jacket again.
She felt a sense of satisfaction, and general giddiness, finding it wasn't seeming to fade any, even as time passed them.

"Excellent." Torin replied, smiling widely in Natasha's direction. "So, just curious...which song did you put for yourself on my phone?" Of course it would be easy enough for him to go into his contacts to check it himself but it was more amusing to ask Natasha.

"Well, I had a tough decision, but I ended up picking Hum Hallelujah, actually," Natasha replied, smiling right back at him. She crumpled up the paper bag lunch sack as she spoke, tossing it into the trashcan beside his desk, before reclining more comfortably into her chair. "I still think it's awesome that you like Fall Out Boy, by the way."

"Ah, a perfect song if I do say so myself." Torin smiled at Natasha before kicking his feet up onto his desk and crossing his ankles. "I've loved them for years. Ever since 'Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend' was released back in 2003."
He leant back in his chair a little and got comfortable, smiling at Natasha from behind his bangs. "Which songs of theirs do you love most? I'm pretty partial to 'Calm Before The Storm' and 'A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More "Touch Me"' myself."

"Seriously? I thought I was the only person in Parkdale who even bought that album," Natasha replied quickly, grinning. "But uhm, maybe I was, since you weren't in Parkdale at that time. Most people don't realize they even had anything before Cork Tree, you know?"
Deciding her favorite songs took a moment of thought, as she pressed her chin into one of her palms, looking concentrated. "Personally? I like Atavan Halen the very best. But Xo, and Golden.. oh, they're definitely good, too. I really liked Infinity on High, personally. It's really good for running to, I find."

"Seriously," Torin replied, a wide grin on his face. "Yeah, most people that I've talked to about them think that Cork Tree is their first and I just laugh."
"Oh, Golden is definitely one of my favourites from 'Infinity on High'. That and 'Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?'. I mostly love a lot of their old stuff though, since it came out back when I was actually in high school." He laughed again and leaned back in his chair just a little more. It was so nice to be talking about music with someone other than his sister, and especially nice that the someone was Natasha.

"Anything with a good beat that I can run to, or just.. play to, really, I like it. But Fall Out Boy is definitely on top of the list, up there in the top five," Natasha explained, as she shifted the crossing of her legs again. "I'm going out on a limb here, since they're not given near enough recognition, but tell me that you know who Billy Talent are? You totally should. Someone else who came out around the time you were in high school. Well, their original album, anyway."

"Hell yes I know who Billy Talent are. Their music was a big staple in my high school life. I don't think I could have made it through high school without them and Fall Out Boy." Torin responded, laughing loudly. He really enjoyed talking about music with Natasha, it made this whole thing (whatever it was) seem a whole lot more comfortable and was helping him relax.

"That's exactly how I feel about Sonic Youth and the Strokes. Actually, add the Foo Fighters to that list. I saw them when they played live, and I.. wow, I don't think I even have words. I'm not a total music dork, at least not the way you explain Meghan, but when I love a band, I am devoted, and totally head over heels," Natasha replied, grinning wildly at him. She was definitely enjoying discussing music, and discussing it with Torin was even better. It was giving her in sight into his interests, for one. And generally making her happy, for another.

"I've only seen Billy Talent live. And it was seriously amazing. I don't think anything else I'll ever see will be as amazing as that concert was." Torin said, smiling a little more now as he glanced over his desk and looked at Natasha. "I never get really attached to my bands like Meghan does, but when I love a band I really love them. It's been awhile since I've been super devoted to a band but I'm sure I'll find another one soon enough. It doesn't take me much to get into a band and love them."

"You saw Billy Talent live? You were in the same room as Ben?" Natasha replied, looking completely flabbergasted at the thought. "Well, color me envious, because.. wow, that is.. lucky Torin, lucky!" the blonde added, laughing a bit. "And I'm sure you'll find another band soon. Maybe we can find one together? Some of the local shows are super hot."
It wasn't exactly like asking him on a date, was it? No, not really. Just an open offer to go to a show together. Just like the open offer for the soccer league. Or so she had convinced herself. Anything to keep her cheeks from flushing anymore.

"Not only was I in the same room as Ben, I shook his hand and got my copies of their CDs autographed." Torin couldn't keep the grin off his face when he saw how excited this made Natasha. It was like he'd just told her he'd met God himself or something. "It would be really cool to find a new band together. I've never heard any of the local talent besides my sister so I'd love to go. Want to check out the next concert together?"

"I'd love to," Natasha replied, once again with that breathless tone that she kept slipping into. She quickly cleared her throat, and straightened up in her seat, giving him a sheepish little grin. "Sure, it'll be great, yeah? Random Comment usually plays at the cafe almost all week, we could always give them a go. They're excellent, in my opinion. But again, potentially biased. Their guitarist is a good friend of mine, and I know the rest of them pretty well, too."

"Yeah, that sounds really good." Torin smiled, nodding a few times. It'd be nice to see Natasha outside of his office (the soccer team didn't really count, of course) for once. And if they'd be listening to a great band play, all the better. "So, what sort of music does Random Comment play anyway?"

"Well, part of their agreement in getting paid to play at Seneca Falls, is that they don't really choose their own set list. The manager chooses songs for them, so they cover a lot of songs, usually stuff that everybody knows. They do a really amazing cover of Cat Stevens' Wild World, it's amazing. But uhm, Jude writes some of his own things. Lots of ballads, I find," Natasha explained quietly, still smiling. "But still really good, you'll like them. They're not exactly hard rock or anything, but Jude has a great voice, and Ophelia's guitar is top notch. Plus, coffee. My friend Leigh is one of the baristas there, and she makes awesome drinks."
