Smiling at their joined hands, Adrian allowed Jude to lead him outside, and made a mental note to make sure Jude smiled as often as humanly possible.

Jude led them to the back alley, where the 'smoke pit' was, and leaned against the brick wall of the club, watching Adrian. "You know thats bad for you right?"

Adrian couldn't help but chuckle as he dug the crumpled pack and book of matches from his jean pocket. He pulled a single, slender cigarette out, and bit onto the end as he lit one of the matches and the cig in turn. "I know," he admitted, inhaling the bitter nicotine into his chest and then releasing it into a curling cloud. He watched it until it dissipated, and only then took another long drag.
"I don't think it's humanly possible to smoke in public and not be aware of that fact," he smiled winningly in Jude's direction. "But for now they're a de-stresser that I cling to. Don't hold it against me?"

”Yeah, totally love it. Except that I really didn’t,” Tatum murmured back, though she returned the kiss, leaning into Ophelia as she was pulled closer by her belt loops. “I have to say, I’m pretty fond of your nipples too. On most days, when you’re not teasing me,” she added. At the mention of Jude, she turned in that direction, just in time to see him disappearing toward the door with Adrian. “You don’t like anyone Jude hangs around with, honey. Other than us, and our friends. Seriously.”
”My parents have never wasted a cent of that hard earned money on a condom, I tell you what. Rubbers are too much trouble, clearly. Though they’ve been good since I came along. No more little accidents, I’m their baby,” Brody muttered, rolling her eyes, and sticking her tongue out back. “You’re always on the look out for a nice piece of ass, sweetie. I know you far too well, believe it,” she added, before trailing off to listen to Lucy’s next few words.
“I don’t know either, okay? Coffee is good, Ophi is good, and I will come here as long as I want. I get pissed, I enjoy myself a little. Whatever, you enjoy yourself,” the light-haired girl sighed. “Is there every anything else to do in Parkdale? Café, or the mall. That is it, man. So shut up, drink your coffee, enjoy the shitty music, and stop picking on me. You’re being a bad wife.”

Jude shook his head, holding out his hand for Adrian to join him against the wall. "I suppose I can't. I have some bad habits too."
Ophelia scowled, shaking her head. "I know. I can't help it. He's fragile! Like a flower or some shit!"

"We could be getting baked and walking around," she said grumpily. "Or getting drunk. Except that I don't drink... you could be getting drunk, I could watch?" she suggested, grabbing her coffee back and having a drink. "And I do enjoy myself here. A little. But again, everyone's gay. I'll start batting for the other team, maybe then I'll meet someone. Annnnd I'm not picking on you. I'm a concerned wife, not a bad one!"

Adrian took the proffered hand, and joined Jude in leaning against the wall as well. He made no move to release the hand when he arrived there. "Well, what kind of bad habits?" The tone was serious for a moment, and he idly flicked his cigarette. He took a drag, flicked it again, and then nudged Jude with his shoulder, before he added in an intent tone, softened by a smile, "And don't spare the details, I somehow think that I want to know everything there is to know about Jude Wainwright."

Jude's cheeks colored slightly, and he looked sheepishly at his feet. "Nothing too horrible. I uh, don't eat. That's a bad habit I guess."

Adrian cocked an eyebrow and smothered a rather unpleasant burst of concern that broke free in his mind. "Well," he asked, "don't eat...what? Breakfast? Lunch? A meal...or any meal? 'Cos, you need to eat sometime. Or else...y'know," here Adrian injected a rather spectacular display with his hands that could have meant anything, but was intended to display the destructive end to not eating properly. "It's bad," he added pointedly at the end, blushing at the inadequacy and lack of eloquence in his response.

There was a moment of silence as Jude tried to think of the proper response to Adrian's words. He knew it was bad not to eat; but how could he eat when his mother would never eat again? When people in their own town were going without food? It was weird, Ophelia always told him, and stupid; just because people were starving or dead didn't mean he had to starve. He shook his head, eyes on his shoes, which were a bit scuffed up, and sighed.
"I don't really eat anything. I get a lot of crap for it from my siblings, but....I don't know." He glanced at his watch and cursed. "We shoulf go back inside, I only have a few minutes befoe we start the second half of the set."

"Well, I can't promise not to give you crap," Adrian responded honestly, snubbing his cigarette into the wall behind him, putting it out, "but I can promise to try not to overload you with it. Hey! Does that mean you don't want any of my cookies?" He was teasing again, trying to lighten Jude's mood. "Because, seriously, they're good. I promise," he skipped forward a half step to wrap his arm around Jude's waist in a half-hug. "Let's go back so you can wow me with that voice s'more." He laughed again, and turned halfway to Jude, "Do you think your band would be offended if you got a groupie?!"

Leigh grinned at yet another customer slipping a tip into the jar, handed them their drink and spun to grab another drink. There was always a mad rush when the band took their break, and somehow she was always caught by surprise by the volume of customers that they could go through in such a small amount of time.
The band was doing well that evening, and everyone seemed to be doing fairly well. Not that Brody looked exactly blissful, but Leigh was pretty sure that she would never be blissful at any of the performances done by Random Comment. Briefly she pondered why the girl was at every single performance, but really, it wasn't her business. Maybe she was just there to check out the competition? Who knew.
She was surprised when Jude had wished Adrian a happy birthday at the beginning of the set. Not only had she completely forgotten, herself, but she didn't know that Adrian and Jude knew each other. Not to mention the fact that Adrian seemed to fairly shine when Jude spoke to him. The redhead was clearly crushing hard. Leigh had merely laughed a little and filed the information away until she needed it.
She had met Adrian at the library and had been on friendly terms with him ever since. She briefly harbored a small crush on him, but wasn't heartbroken when she discovered that he was gay. There were plenty of fish in the sea, after all, and it wasn't as though she was in love with him.
She was pulled from her thoughts when another customer ordered a chocolate mint javalanche. Those things were hell to make, but she smiled anyway, and went to work, waiting impatiently for the group to take over the stage again, so she could enjoy the show herself and slack off work.

Jude lead them back inside, hand still holding onto Adrian's as he lead them to the stage. "Alright, don't go anywhere's, you owe me cookies and groupie screams, man. Sit in the VIP area." he pointed to the marked off section, pulling himself back up to the stage. He nodded tot he other band members, grinning as he flicked on the mic again, tapping it.
"Are we ready for some more? I bet everyone knows this song; I guess we're a cover band tonight again." He cast a look at the manager, then sighed. "So how about this one; anyone know Downtown?"

Adrian moved obediently to sit as Jude directed him, and watched as he took the mic again, seeming somehow more at ease (if less than exuberant over the choice of music). He momentarily considered whether or not practicing his groupie-screaming right then was appropriate or not, but ultimately decided it should be saved for a later time, and prepared to listen to Jude (and probably most of the cafe) singing again. He chuckled quietly at the song in question, but waited comfortably, and internally debated whether or not Jude would prefer chocolate chip, peanut butter, or sugar cookies. Or perhaps all three.

Jude grinned at the cheers from the crowd, and beside him Ophelia smirked; most of the songs the manager chose were somewhat popular and brutal, but she knew that Jude had a special place in his heart for a few of the older ones, such as Downtown. The music began, and Jude blinked as the light dimmed, grabbing the mic on the mic stand and swinging the stand towards him.
"When you're alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go downtown..." His voice was smooth, the tone of the song bringing out the best in his voice.
