"Half and half, like a real picnic. Chocolate's no fun, now, is it?" She grinned, holding out her juice box. "To poppy seed lemon muffins and apple juice!"

"Chocolate is plain, and incredibly predictable," Alex replied softly, as she reached into her own lunch and produced her juice box. She held it up to Maxxie's, smiling wider as she did so. "To poppy seed lemon muffins and apple juice, then. Even if they're going to taste sort of weird together."
There were a few people looking at them, camping out in the middle of the grass, sitting on a sweater. As strange as they may have looked, Alex didn't particularly care. As long as she was with Maxxie, she didn't care what anyone thought of them.

Maxxie smiled, leaning towards Alex as she knocked their juice boxes together. "To us, as we might taste sort of weird together too!" She was content; well aware that there were people staring and simply not caring.

Alex laughed at that, moving her juice box back, and taking a sip from the straw sticking out of the top. "We would? I would think we'd probably taste pretty much the same, since we're sisters," the younger girl suggested absently, looking just a tad thoughtful. "Although, maybe if we went by hair color, you'd probably be poppy seed lemon. And I guess I'd be predictable chocolate. Well, then, that isn't any fun."

"Or perhaps you'd be cinnamon. Or maybe clove. You are not predictable chocolate, madam." Her smile widened, and she leant forward, licking her sisters arm. "Not chocolate at all."

Giggling as Maxxie licked her arm, which she was finding was quite ticklish, Alex scrunched up her face some. Still laughing, she pulled her arm back, holding it against her chest. "What is it, then? Cinnamon or clove? Or something else entirely?"

Grinning, Maxxie went back to her juice box. "Cinnamon, missus."

"Much better than chocolate," Alex agreed, taking a sip from her juice box as well, before reaching for the half of a ham sandwich that Maxxie had handed over earlier. "Although, I think that cinnamon doesn't go very well with poppy seed lemon, either. Which you and Ken are definitely. I guess mom might be cinnamon, too. She and I can be outcasted together, yeah?"

Maxxie grinned, brushing a strand of hair behind her ears. "I don' t know, I think Ken is something more mature......carob maybe."

"Is carob yellow? I thought carob was like.. brown, isn't it? Isn't carob that stuff that you can feed to dogs as a chocolate substitute, sorta?" Alex stated, tilting her head a little in thought. "I guess if mom ever let us have a dog, I'd know."

Maxxie chuckled, taking a drink of her juice as she waved her hand. "It's a chocolate substitute."

"So Ken is like.. a chocolate substitute. Yeah, I could deal with that," Alex replied, nodding her head. She reached over to take one of the muffins, removing the wrapper slowly. "I wish he was here today.."

Maxxie nodded. "I miss him when he's not here." she stated, playing with a loose thread on her shirt.
