"She doesn't sound like a very nice lady, nah. I just get the vibe even from the way that you talk about her," Natasha replied, giving him a sympathetic look. She wasn't sure when, or how, the conversation had gone from her, over to him, but she wasn't complaining. It didn't feel as awkward as she had expected. "When he's older, I bet he'll want to."
"Actually, I do believe we played against them, in soccer, at least. And they sound familiar, like maybe they were in the final four of rugby not long ago."

"Well, it's not that she's not nice. It's just that she doesn't like me and Meghan very much because we ignored her when she tried to become 'our new mother'. Just because she married our father doesn't make her our mother and well, she was rather annoyed when we wouldn't go along with her perfect little family plan." Torin shook his head a little, grinning sheepishly. "Well, it certainly seems as if I'm the one being counseled now instead of the other way around."
"They're a rather small school, but their sports teams were killer. They didn't really have anything in the form of theatre or music though so Meghan was rather pumped to move here with me and go to a bigger school."

"I can see how that would bug her, yeah, but I can also see why you guys wouldn't want to go along with it. I might hate my mom, but I still haven't replaced her. Nana is still my nana, not my mother," Natasha replied, nodding slowly. When he admitted that he was the one ended up counseled, she laughed a bit, smirking over at him. "I guess you are, yeah. We ended up talking about you, and your old school, instead of me, and.. well, this school. I wasn't going to say anything, of course, but since you're willing to admit it."

"She's not that bad of a woman. In fact, she's actually rather nice, she just doesn't like me or my sister that much. And if she doesn't like us, there's no point in pretending that I like her." Torin shrugged, choosing to not let such things get to him. He didn't mind sharing things like this with Natasha since she was a pretty easy person to talk to. "I like to be familiar with my students since it makes them easier to counsel, but I don't think I've ever told anyone as much as I've told you..."

Although she didn't say it, Natasha was genuinely a bit flattered by that, and she couldn't help but smile a little in return. "I think it's a good approach," she agreed slowly. "It definitely made me feel more at ease in the situation. None of the other councilors, or even doctors, that I've seen have ever been really open. It's hard to trust people when you're not sure what they're all about. I think an equal exchange makes for a better working relationship, right?"

"Well, it might just have something to do with the fact that I'm younger or something, but I don't beleive in that 'detach yourself from your patients' bullshit." Torin smiled a little sheepishly and then let out a slight chuckle, "If you want the people you're helping to trust you, you need to reveal a little about yourself."

"I think I'm going to like coming here, if that's the attitude that you're holding. It's much better than what I'm used to," Natasha replied, smiling slowly. It was almost like having a friend, instead of a councilor, but she didn't voice that thought; it wouldn't be polite to undermine his job, even if she felt that way. "And I do trust you, for the record. I just wanted to make that as clear as possible. I might not.. exactly think that I need to be here, but if I have to come, I'm glad it'll be with you."

Torin felt his face grow warm as Natasha said that she was glad he would be the counselor instead of someone else. "Well, thank you. It means a lot to hear you say that. No one else sees me as anything but their counselor and so... it really means a lot. Thanks."

"Well, that's one thing you'll learn about me," Natasha said, finding her words came before she could stop them. "I'm not like anyone else, really. I'm a lot different than most of the other girls," she continued. She trailed off a bit after that, shifting uncomfortably in her chair, and crossing her arms tighter, giving Torin a rather sheepish smile. "You're welcome, though, for sure. Don't worry about it. And I really hope you consider the intramural league."

"I guess you could say I'm not like most guys too. I mean... look at me. I'm only in my early twenties and I'm already working at a high school," Torin laughed and grinned at Natasha. "Oh, you don't have to worry. I'll definitely look into joining the intramural league." It would be a chance to see Natasha outside a counselor-counseled atmosphere and he couldn't see anything wrong with that.

"That did surprise me a bit, I was kind of expecting some old guy, in like.. you know, a tweed suit? With a comb over, smoking a pipe, with his degrees plastered all over the walls? You're definitely not what I expected," Natasha admitted, laughing as well, and grinning right back. "Seriously though, I'm glad to hear that. I look forward to playing with you," she added, soon realizing how it had come out, and quickly adding, "On the field and stuff, you know. On my team."

Torin laughed at the person Natasha had described, trying to not picture himself like that. "Yeah, I'm sure that's what most people expect when they come to my office. But I'm just a kid myself, really. Only a few years older, you know?" He laughed a little more now, grinning from ear to ear. "I'm looking forward to playing on the team with you as well."

"You don't even have your first gray yet, you're just a baby, I bet that's what all of the other teachers tell you," she teased, with a little laugh. "Seriously though, my English teacher is pretty young, too. I think I like the younger faculty, they can relate a lot more. We've got some really old teachers here that I'm pretty sure are stuck in the forties, or earlier," Natasha explained, grimacing as she did, shaking her head.
She had just been about to go on about the team, and ask him what position he played, when the bell finally rang. She hadn't even realized that an hour had passed that quickly, and she frowned, reaching for her bag. "I guess that's it until Monday, right?"

"Yeah, a few of the older teachers were pretty much against Mr. During hiring me but he assured them that I was perfect for the job because I could 'relate to the students' and they relented. I definitely get along with the other younger members of the faculty for the main fact that they actually understand what it's like to be younger than the age of majority in a teaching atmosphere and all that..."
Torin glanced up at the clock when the bell had rung and sighed, "Yes, I suppose that would be it until Monday. ...Although if you have anything you'd like to talk about, feel free to drop by even without an appointment, alright?"

Nodding as she stood up, Natasha stretched her arms out a bit, before lifting up her bag and shouldering it. She really wasn't feeling in the mood to go to her next class, physics, but she really didn't have much of a choice. She'd probably have to stuff down the lunch her grandmother had packed too, on the way, since she had spent the entire lunch period in Torin's office. It might have been wise, in retrospect, to have eaten while she waited for him to let her inside originally. Oh well, too late now.
Stepping up to the door, the blonde paused for a moment, before turning back to face him again. She smiled, hand still holding onto the strap of her bag. "Does 'anything' include soccer?"
