"You are not," Leigh replied firmly. "And being in soccer and stuff can only help. All the balance-stuff comes back, too. You should do it, if you have the time. And trust me, if I know anything well, it's the sports stuff!
"I don't mind being goalie," she added to no one in particular. "Yay for scrimmaging!"

"Well, I guess if you're so gung-ho about it, I can give it a shot. I really don't think I can do it, but whatever. I'm Sera, I can do whatever I put my mind to, 'cause I'm awesome, yes?" she suggested softly, with a bit of a smirk. She stepped onto the edge of the field, eyeing the other girls out there.
"Good, let's split it up," Natasha agreed, starting to jog out onto the field. When she reached the other girls, she called them into a huddle, and quickly divided them into two teams of six without much difficulty. They didn't have a referee, but they'd manage. It was only practice anyway.

"You bet," Leigh responded, with a wink. And once set up into her team (amusingly against both Natasha and Sera, which made her pout a little in Natasha's direction) realized that their proper goalie was on her team, so she was allowed to take the forward position, which she did gleefully.

Not missing the pout sent her way, Natasha simply smiled, giving a bit of a shrug of her shoulders. It had been completely on purpose; putting Leigh and Sera onto the same team wouldn't have been half as interesting as pitting them against each other. They made an amazing pair playing together in their typical game setting, but it was always fun to see them in a versus situation. Even when they had just been best friends, they had been just as competitive as ever. It would be amusing.
"Okay, girls, let's play fair," she chided them all gently, as she stepped up to her own position of forward, her usual spot.
Seraphim nodded in agreement, moving up to her own typical position, as their center. She glanced toward Leigh, giving her a little grin, before looking down toward her feet, scuffing them into the grass as she waited for the ball to be dropped.

"You're gonna regret that one, Tasha. Maybe not right now, but someday you will. When you least expect it," Leigh noted, and stuck her tongue out at her captain, waiting impatiently for the game to get going. She hated when it was just starting -- not enough chaos for her.

Once the soccer ball hit the field, Seraphim was off, taking it easily, and more or less shoving her way past the other center. She was good at her position, far more practiced than Daniella, and she wasn't pulling any punches just because they were up against their own teammates. Her small size allowed her the increased mobility she needed, ducking easily between other players, and with the ball still comfortably dribbled.
Natasha was off just as quickly, dashing ahead of Sera, and toward their opponent's net. She waited impatiently for the pass that she knew would come, since she had the better shot, and was more or less open for it. Their goalie, Tara, was good. Well, she was very good. But Natasha knew she could take her, or at least get pretty damn close.

Leigh gave Gladys a nod, towards Natasha, telling the shorter girl to cover her. Leigh, in the meantime, immediately moved to try to steal the ball from Sera as she approached their side of the field. She ducked around one of the other girls, Ashley, she thought (but couldn't really be sure), and when she tried to steal, only caught the edge of the ball. She managed to get it away from Sera, but instead of sending it where she wanted, it was intercepted by one of the other girls on Sera's team.
Leigh cursed and was off again like a shot, she could feel Sera on her heels.

Seraphim had expected Leigh to come right for her, but she hadn't been as prepared as she hoped; losing the ball as soon as Leigh's foot grazed the side of it, sending it out of her reach. But also out of Leigh's reach, apparently not her plan. Swearing silently, the brunette gave the other girl a momentary glance, just as someone else on her team grabbed the ball, and began heading for the goal once more. Sera wasted no time, picking up her face, and heading after Leigh, not intending to let her get the chance to intercept again.
Slightly amused, and slightly impressed, with the way Leigh had taken charge of her side of the team, Natasha was on the move again once Gladys was sent her way to block her. She saw Sera lose the ball, taken over by Erin, and the blonde dashed further along the field, attempting to stay open still, to receive the shot and put it into the net.

Leigh released a bit of a cheer when the ball was properly blocked by their goalie (had someone given it to Natasha, she probably would have made it, having been in a much better position. Leigh was excited to hear the bitching-out they would receive for being a ball-hog), and then Gladys had it again, streaking to the other side of the field. Leigh cheered at her, following in that direction, ignoring the speckles of mud that covered her up to her thighs, (her kleats were completely covered by that point) and doing her best not too slide anywhere. And failing occasionally -- the mud was making everything really slick.

It was Natasha's turn to swear when Erin took, and failed, the shot; instead of passing to the very open captain in waiting. She shot the other girl a rather unimpressed look, before abandoning her position beside the net, and taking off down the field again, close behind Leigh and Gladys both, determined to keep either of them from taking a shot against their goalie. She didn't exactly believe wholeheartedly in the other girl's goal keeping abilities; she probably should have taken the position herself, but she had volunteered. She wasn't sure about Gladys, but Leigh would get past her easily.
Not that Natasha intended to let it get that far.
Having been further down the field, behind Leigh, Seraphim was much closer to the ball when it came back their way, and they began dashing toward their team's side of the field. She was just as covered in mud as the rest of the team, and although she smirked each time she saw Leigh slipping a bit in her mad dash, she was slipping just as much. It would, at least, give her the leverage she needed for what she was planning.
Managing to get a few paces ahead of the current ball holder, she when into a dive; sliding across the wet field, and intercepting the progress, managing to free the ball from Gladys, as well as trip her up. Unfortunately, as it went rolling in any random direction, it was easily picked up again by one of Leigh's team members. Sera cursed, quickly getting up from the ground, and starting to run again, now covered in more mud than ever.

Adrenaline was coursing quite merrily through Leigh's system. Tiffany, who'd made the breakaway, passed to Leigh, who accepted it, and managed to score, but at the cost of slipping, and she fell. Her momentum carried her a couple of yards, mud streaking up the entire right side of her body. She stood, shivering a little -- it was cold soaked with mud, and gingerly checked herself for injury, she was fine, luckily. Diving wasn't the safest manner of playing the game she knew of. Tiffany was there, grinning at her, and Leigh found herself in a bit of a five-person-hug of everyone on their "team" except the goalie, all of the girls ignoring the mud.
"I feel pretty," the blonde grinned towards Sera, and moved to try to intercept the ball as their goalie threw it in. Sera managed to steal it, and was off again before Leigh could blink. "You've been practicing without me, haven't you?" Leigh called accusingly, as she attempted to follow, but she was very muddy and far more susceptible to sliding now.

"No, not really," Sera called right back, never missing a beat, and never taking her concentration away from the ball. "You're just really terrible in comparison, I figure," she added casually, smirking wildly, although Leigh couldn't see it from behind her. She looked for a near-by teammate, someone to pass it to, since she knew Leigh was very close to catching up with her. And she was going to be on her ass twice as bad now that she had started teasing her.
Natasha resisted the urge to tell them to keep their heads in the game, only because the banter made her laugh a bit, as she once again reversed direction, heading toward the opposition's net once more. She saw Sera looking for someone, and raised her arms into the air, signaling for her to send it her way. Getting a nod from the brunette, she only scarcely managed to get the pass, which was almost stolen by Daniella. Once the ball was in her possession, she was on a streak toward the net again, determined to get the shot in.

Leigh, playfully incensed by the tease, shot after Sera, who passed the ball towards Natasha. She moved to change direction, and chase the ball again, but lost her footing, and promptly slid again, into Sera, causing the brunette to tumble down on top of her. "Oof!" She gasped, unprepared. "Jeez, Sera, I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

Falling like a ton of bricks, but luckily with Leigh [and some mud] to break her fall, Sera looked up at the blonde underneath her, and managed a wide smile. "I'm fine actually," she replied, although her knee had taken a bit of a bump; it was nothing serious, just stung a little. "Are you okay? I kinda crushed you slightly, miss clumsy," she added, with a little bit of laughter. Lifting one muddy hand, she smeared some mud over Leigh's cheek with her thumb, grinning cheekily at her. "There, now you match. Your face was too clean," the brunette explained, before leaning in to kiss her slightly, still laughing against it.
With her concentration broken by the collision, Natasha had slowed up some, and it was enough for Erin to take the ball from her possession; heading back toward their net, and their inexperienced goalie. The blonde cursed, turning quickly on her heel, and heading after the other player, but turning her head in the direction of Leigh and Sera, who still hadn't gotten up from the soggy ground. They certainly didn't look injured, judging by the laughing and kissing, and Natasha scowled some. "You two, come on! Up!"

Leigh rather happily accepted the kiss she'd been granted. "I'm okay," Leigh replied a tinge winded, after pausing a moment, and then rubbed at her cheek with the back of one hand -- she could feel the mud spread further. "I am taking a two-hour shower after this. My hair is caked."
She looked up when Natasha yelled at them, and grinned at Sera. "Whoops," she reported, without a touch of guilt.
