Seraphim nodded as well, focusing onto her game, and quieting her teasing of Leigh. She just kept up the shots, taking them one after another, after Natasha finished up each of hers.
Quite pleased with the quick dedication to the game that she received, Natasha smiled in her work. They definitely stood a chance this season, at the rate they were going. And this was even without seeing how the other girls were doing.

Leigh worked hard, catching far more than she missed, but if Natasha wasn't getting a few shots in, something bizarre was going on. She was the only girl on the team that Leigh would easily admit as her better. Sera also got a few shots by, but Leigh was the sort that found it to be a challenge, rather than a threat, and she felt that the closer the game was, the better.

This went on for nearly ten minutes, before Natasha made for Sera to switch into Leigh's place, taking over the net. Another ten minutes, and then her turn, and by that time, a few other girls on the team had shown up to watch them, seated comfortably on the bleachers. Once she had recognized their audience, Natasha stopped one more shot, before glancing over in their direction.
"About time, right? Sera chimed in, her voice carrying over to her captain, reading the blonde girl's expectant look. "They going to get rimmed for being late?"

"Maybe," Leigh answered. "Then again, maybe we're awesome enough that she won't mind?"

"Well, they showed up. Even if they are almost fifteen minutes late," Natasha replied slowly, frowning just a bit. "Let's take five, see what's up, and then we can really get into it. Sound good?"
"Excellent," Sera offered, kicking up her soccer ball, and catching it in her hands, holding it under her arm, as they began to walk back toward the bleachers.

"Si, senor," Leigh replied, and followed the other two girls, feeling pleasantly warmed up and ready to really play, hoping that if there was yelling, it would be quick.

"And you became Mexican, when exactly?" Sera asked, raising an eyebrow as she dropped back a bit to walk next to Leigh, smirking widely at her. "I do think Latin chicks are pretty cute. But I just don't think the blonde hair goes with the whole look."
Natasha was feeling rather calm, even despite the lateness. She was a bit annoyed, but it wouldn't do any good to yell at them. The girls who still weren't here? Or didn't show at all? She'd yell at them. "Okay, everybody, it's about time!"

Leigh looked regretfully over her own shoulder. "I don't think I have enough booty to be Latina," she admitted sorrowfully, and then cracked a grin as they listened to Natasha go into commander-mode. "I'm still cute, though, right?"

"The cutest," Seraphim agreed, as they stopped walking, and stood to wait behind Natasha. She leaned over, placing a light kiss onto Leigh's cheek. "I don't lie."
Natasha managed to keep her temper in check, barely even raising her voice as she questioned why each of the girls was late. It was a round table of legitimate excuses, and she found she couldn't stay too mad at them. "Okay, just.. everyone get ready, and we're going on the field in five. Me and the ladies who were on time, need a breather," she explained, as she moved past their regular goalie, and crouching down to her bag, getting out her water bottle.

"I think I can live with that," Leigh said with an impish smile, and then promptly began bending backwards to stretch her back, initially, with her hands on her waist, but ending with her palms flat on the ground behind her, feet still firmly planted. She held the position for a moment, merely enjoying the feeling of her muscles stretching to their fullest, before she kicked off, balanced on her hands, performing an easy back walkover.
Leigh released a groan of pleasure. "That feels so good," she noted, before sitting and grabbing her water bottle, and taking a drink, and then leaning comfortably against Sera. "I hope they don't take too long to warm up. I'm up for a good scrimmage."

Seraphim watched Leigh stretching, a rather wide smile on her face, as she settled down onto the bleacher beside Natasha, who was still nursing her water bottle steadily. "You know, you're ridiculously flexible. Not that I'm complaining, I'm just.. stating. It's nice," she murmured, as Leigh settled beside her, and leaned into her. She reached over and took the other girl's drink, taking a sip from it, before handing it back over. "Flexible girls are the best, aren't they?"
Natasha watched as the rest of their team moved hastily, getting to starting their warm up routine, as she rested beside the couple to her left. "Flexible girls are pretty great," she pitched in, taking another drink before going on. "Tall girls, too. Long legs. You know, actually, Seraphim, I might be interested in stealing your girl. Leigh is pretty perfect."

Leigh grinned. "Flexible is fun," she noted, accepting her water bottle. "It was useful in dance, and in gymnastics." The blonde fell silent for a moment, mentally counting, and then continued, "One might be surprised in the number of activities Mom involved me in when I was little. Keep my energy levels, and destruction-ones, under control, I suppose, and then she let me pick the ones I like the best.
"I'd still be in gymnastics, but I like soccer a little more. More about fun and a lot less about points and perfections. And people. Being social is important -- moreso when the only people you see are desperate for you to bust your knee so they can beat you in regionals. Doesn't build good relationships."
She blushed at Natasha's compliment, unsure of what to say. Perfection had never really been used to describe her, and she shrugged it off, "I'm not perfect," she replied, picking up an amused note. "I can't do laundry."

"I remember. Since my mom was a copycat, who usually just shoved me into whatever you were in. And then she could dump me at your house, I'd get a drive with you and your mom, so on, and so on. I remember our overly active childhood well. She never forced Tatum to do any of that stuff, sometimes I hated being her favorite," Sera mused, shaking her head a little, as she reached for the water bottle again. "I agree though, soccer is the best. And gymnastics was.. actually, I'd like to still be in gymnastics, but I'm too out of practice now."
She paused, before quickly going on. "I'm also a lot more cut throat than you, though. I didn't mind wishing ill will on other girl's knees. And she's right, she fails at laundry, but I'm not letting you have her, she's fully mine."
"I was kidding, I was kidding," Natasha said softly, smiling at the two. "I could never break up a pair of love birds like you, you're like puppies or something, it's ridiculous how well you go together, y'know?"

"Heh," Leigh grinned fondly at Sera. "I can't complain. It was just extra best-friend time for me. Besides, could you possible imagine Tatum in classes like ours? Poor thing would have had a nervous breakdown. And you could so get into gymnastics again. I would if I had the time. In fact, you should," she added with a firm nod.
She laughed a little at Sera's lack of problems with ill-wishing. "See, that's why you're the overlord, and I'm the henchlady."
"We're matched well," she noted towards Natasha, touched at Sera's possessiveness. It was nice to know that she wasn't as easily-replaceable as she sometimes worried, "because we're different. Plus, she totally loves that I love that she's the boss. It works well. We're like chocolate ice cream and pickles to a pregnant lady," she conjured the image from conversations she and Sera had had once-upon-a-time, and laughed. "Can we play some soccer now...pleeease. If they're not warmed up yet it's their own fault!"

Laughing as well at the comparison, Natasha nodded, as she closed her water bottle and tossed it back into her bag. She stood from her seat, stretched her arms over her head, and then bent each leg to stretch those. "Yeah, let's do this thing. They've had ages to warm up, it's time to get serious. How do you guys feel about a mock game? We have enough of us for six on six."
"I'm too old to get back into that, you're nuts. I haven't been on a balance beam since we were twelve," Seraphim murmured back, frowning a bit. When Natasha was standing and stretching, the brunette rose to her feet, and did the same. "Six on six sounds fair. I call not goalie for my team, because I'm terrible at it, honestly."
