"No, no way. I'd be one of them.. big yellow dogs, like what 'Bella is. You know, the golden whatchamacallits," Hunter replied firmly, letting her head flop back down onto Sarah's shoulder, snuggling in. "I love my dog.. I hope my parents let me take her, even though they kicked me out.."

"Retriever. And I doubt it, Hunt. Where would we put a dog? we don't even have a place."

Incredibly upset by this revelation, Hunter jerked into a sitting position again, giving Sarah a look that bordered on tears. "But, she.. s-she's so old, she needs me, she's had me forever! We need to find a house for the dog! We can keep her here, she'll sleep on the couch with me, I swear I'll like.. oh man, I'll clean, and everything."

Sarah sighed, fingers moving soothingly in Hunters hair. "Hunter, that's exactly why we can't have her. She's old, she needs special care and special food and we can't afford that."

Lower lip trembling, and eyes watering, Hunter frowned. "Is that what you're gunna say when I get old? That you can't afford me?"

Sarah rolled her eyes. "No, that is not what I'll say when you're old. Sheesh. Are you ready to relocate to my room?"

"Well, I guess.. as long as it means I'm gunna get lucky?" she suggested, frown immediately upturning into a grin. When it came to her drunken mood swings, Hunter was pliable at best, switching and flopping at the drop of a hat.
