Sarah took the cd, a look of disdain on her face. "Thanks. Only two weeks after you promised to bring it back." She turned to Samson and Jude, giving them a blank look, her default look. "Areyou two ready to go home?"
Samson grinned widely, giving his sister a thumbs up. "We're ready, willing and able, sis!" he stated, "Are we gunna rock out tonight or what?"
Jude rolled his eyes, patting Samson's chest lightly. "Did you want to come along, Brody?" he asked, politely. He knew she'd most likely refuse the girl hated him, hated Samson. And Sarah wouldn't care either way, the queen of Apathy.

Brody was a little taken back by the offer, wondering momentarily if it was a joke or something. But Jude looked genuine, at least. Simply shaking her head, the light-haired girl shoved her hands into the pocket of her sweater. "No, can't. I have work at five, and Lucy will be waiting.. I'd catch hell if I jewed her out and didn't show up. She'd have to run our cubicle by herself. Plus, calls would go uncentered, people would go unanswered, it would basically be a giant mess, so I'd actually better jet the fuck home, and get ready," she explained, glancing toward the school again. Where was Lucy anyway? She must have walked home.
"You guys go ahead though."

Jude nodded. "Yeah, cool. Works important." he shrugged; he hadn't really expected her to want to come anyways, but work was a pretty good excuse.

"Well, you know what they say," Brody offered, though it was all she said, and she wasn't sure exactly what 'they' said, or who 'they' were. It just seemed like the proper and mature statement to make in the situation. Shifting her weight uncomfortably, she looked back toward the three of them. "Oh uh, before I go though, playing any.. shows soon?"
She left out any rude comments about how the last one had ended.

Jude nodded, moving to tie his hair back with the elastic he kept around his wrist. "Uh, yeah. We play the same, uh, days. Every week. Uhm, Mondays, Tuesdays, fridays and Saturdays."

"Uh, yeah. Guess I'll probably see you, then. If I have it off or whatever," Brody replied, a little lamely. She'd have it off; even if she didn't, when it came to brooding at Random Comment shows, she was willing to dip in after a day at work. Even if she told herself it was for one of Leigh O'Conner's wonderful coffees. "Sound cool?"
God, it was awkward.

It was so weird, so awkward...but sort of nice, having a somewhat civil conversation with Brody Rogers. "Cool. Guess we'll see you there if you're off. Have...fun at work?"

"Oh, you know Lucy and I, we'll rock the joint," Brody agreed, smiling just a bit sheepishly, as she shifted her bag and began to walk slowly in the other direction, waving her hand in a bit of a wave. "That girl, she keeps me young. Later, assholes."
